USAID/PAEM Trains Teachers and Principals in Rural Senegal

Since 2003, USAID/PAEM has trained more than 4,360 teachers and 500 middle school principals.  Thirty schools have been constructed or rehabilitated and equipped with necessary supplies.  This program, financed by USAID, has sought to improve the quality of teaching and education in middle schools in rural areas.  The closing ceremony and workshop to share results of one component of the project took place on August 29 in Dakar.  More than 200 participants attended and both the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education Mr Adama Aidara and Mr Jay T. Smith, Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the U.S. Embassy spoke at the closing ceremony and workshop for one component of the project.
