USA-SENEGAL MILITARY COOPERATION
The USS Doyle in Dakar

The American USS Doyle Frigate was in Dakar August 30 through September 6, 2007. During its visit, training sessions and a joint exercise on open sea search and rescue techniques were carried out with  the Senegalese Navy and Air Force. The USS Doyle is 138 meters long and weighs 4,170 tons when fully equipped. It sails at  54 km/ per hour speed and has  9,300 kms range. Its crew includes 15 Officers and 190 NCOs, who are assisted by a team of 6 Aircraft Officers and 15 Maintenance NCOs.
