Department of State Releases 2007 Trafficking in Persons Report

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice presented the State Department's Trafficking in Persons Report for 2007 in Washington, D.C. on June 12. Rice said the report, which now covers 164 countries, seeks to raise awareness, highlight best practices and inspire governments to take action against the problem. Human trafficking is "a modern-day form of slavery," she said. (More)
