How to Obtain an Emergency Interview for an NIV

If you can meet the requierements listed in one of the categories listed below, you can submit your visa application at the U.S. Embassy consular section on Monday through Thursday from 14:00 to 16:00.

Your application must be Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF) version of the DS-156. Forms DS-156 completed by hand will not be accepted.

Immediate Family Member in the U.S. is Critical Ill

You must present a letter on hospital letterhead (letter faxed to you will be sufficient) signed by the attending physician explaining the nature of the immediate family member's illness and why you must urgently travel to the United States. An immediate family is defined as a mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter or spouse.

Death of an Immediate Family Member in the U.S.

You must present a letter from the relevant funeral home on letterhead (letter faxed to you will be sufficient) specifying the date your immediate family member died and the date of the funeral or memorial service. An immediate family is defined as a mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter or spouse.

Urgent Medical Treatment in U.S.

You must present an original letter from a treating physician in Senegal explaining the nature of your illness and why urgent treatment in the U.S. is required. See information about visas for medical treatment for more information about demonstrating your eligibility for a visa.
