Emergency Contact

In the event of an emergency involving a U.S. citizen please use the following numbers:

· During working hours in Senegal: +221 33.879.4000. Working hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

· During non-working hours in Senegal call Post One—After Hours: +221 33.879.4444. 

· The Department of State's Office of Overseas Citizen Services can be reached from within the U.S. toll free at 888-407-4747.

ACS Hours

  • Note: Effective September 6, 2011 all routine consular services at the U.S. Embassy Dakar, Senegal will be provided by APPOINTMENT ONLY to all U.S. citizens visiting or residing in Senegal or Guinea-Bissau. There will no longer be walk-in hours for routine consular services. Emergency cases (such as medical emergencies, deaths or arrests involving American citizens) will still be handled on a walk-in basis during normal Embassy hours, or after hours by calling the Embassy duty officer.

American Citizens who need emergency services are welcome to come during normal U.S. Embassy hours which are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
